Abilities India Expo to Launch in Kochi on January 31, Showcasing Products for the Disabled

The Abilities India Expo, the first comprehensive national exhibition for products and services for individuals with disabilities, will open tomorrow in Kochi with a wide range of innovative displays and performances.

 

Kochi: The inaugural Abilities India Expo, showcasing products and services for individuals with disabilities, as well as products created by people with disabilities, will begin tomorrow (January 31) at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi.

The exhibition, organized by Volshall Abilities and Assistive Technologies, will run until February 2 and will be open from 11 AM to 9 PM each day. The opening ceremony tomorrow at 11 AM will be graced by Dr. P.T. Babu Rajan, the State Commissioner for Disabilities, as the chief guest. Artists Sunitha Thrippanikara, known for painting with her mouth, and Swapna Augustine, who creates art using her feet, will also inaugurate the event by displaying their artwork.

At 6 PM, a musical performance by Vaikom Vijayalakshmi will be held. Several dignitaries, including ministers and MLAs, are expected to visit the exhibition over the course of the three-day event. The closing ceremony, scheduled for February 2 at 4 PM, will be inaugurated by Industry Minister P. Rajeev.

The exhibition will feature assistive technology devices and vehicles designed to aid people with disabilities, the elderly, and patients. Additionally, it will showcase products from disabled entrepreneurs, as well as opportunities for marketing and distribution, according to Simon George, Chairman of Volshall Abilities and Assistive Technologies.
