Kerala Blasters FC strengthens their goalkeeping with the signing of Kamaljit Singh on loan from Odisha FC for the remainder of the season.

 

Kochi: Kerala Blasters FC has signed goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh on a loan deal from Odisha FC. The player will remain with the Blasters for the entire season. With his vast experience in the Indian Super League (ISL) and I-League, Kamaljit’s presence is expected to strengthen the team for the remainder of the season.

Born on December 28, 1995, in Punjab, Kamaljit started his football career at the AIFF Academy and made his professional debut with Sporting Clube de Goa in 2014. He played for Sporting Goa from 2014 to 2016 before moving to Minerva Punjab, where he played in two I-League matches. In the same year, Kamaljit joined FC Pune City and made his ISL debut. He continued with Pune until 2019 and then played for Hyderabad FC, where his strong performances made him a regular starter. Kamaljit later joined Odisha FC and played 15 consecutive matches in the 2020-2022 season. After a stint with East Bengal FC, he returned to Odisha for the 2022-2024 season.

A former representative of India’s U-19 and U-23 teams, Kamaljit also earned a spot in India’s squad for the 2014 Asian Games.

Speaking about Kamaljit’s signing, Kerala Blasters FC Sporting Director Karolis Skinkis expressed his excitement, stating that the player’s experience and skill will be valuable to the team as they aim for a successful season. Kamaljit, on the other hand, said joining Kerala Blasters is a significant step in his career, and he looks forward to contributing to the team’s success and connecting with its overall goal.
