Kochi: In a significant boost to Kerala’s growing startup ecosystem, Bengaluru-based technology startup Oravco has secured angel investment, reinforcing confidence in innovation-led ventures founded by young Malayali entrepreneurs. Established in 2022 under the Startup India initiative by Anas Seyd Mohammed and Rajeev Radhakrishnan, Oravco has been developing advanced technology solutions aimed at transforming the retail sector through artificial intelligence-driven automation.
The company’s flagship product is an AI-powered retail billing and self-checkout platform that enables customers to complete purchases independently without waiting in queues, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience. As retailers worldwide increasingly embrace automation and digital-first shopping experiences, Oravco’s solution is positioned to capitalize on a rapidly expanding market opportunity. In addition to its retail technology platform, the company has also developed an AI-based communication software named Oriya, which has been gaining considerable traction among businesses seeking intelligent communication solutions.
According to the founders, the successful acquisition of angel funding within five years of the company’s inception serves as a strong endorsement of its business model and technological capabilities. They noted that the investment will provide the resources needed to accelerate expansion beyond India’s metropolitan markets and strengthen the company’s presence across GCC countries. Oravco currently operates from Bengaluru and Palakkad and remains focused on delivering software not merely as a product, but as a comprehensive service experience that creates measurable value for clients.
Anas Seyd Mohammed and Rajeev Radhakrishnan stated that the milestone is expected to inspire greater confidence among aspiring Malayali technology entrepreneurs while supporting Oravco’s vision of scaling its innovative solutions to wider domestic and international markets.
