Kerala State Farmer Awards 2025: Applications Can Be Submitted Until July 13

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has approved the State Farmer Awards for 2025, which includes the newly introduced ‘Shri Oommen Chandy Memorial Award’ carrying a prize money of ₹5 lakh for comprehensive contributions to the agricultural sector. Along with this, two new categories have also been included: ‘Best Urban Rooftop Farmer’ and ‘Udyana Shreshtha’ (₹50,000 each, along with a plaque and certificate). This year, the State Farmer Awards will be presented across a total of 38 categories.

Applications for the awards can be submitted to the respective Krishi Bhavans until July 13, 2026.

The state-level recognitions will span various categories, including the ‘C. Achutha Menon Memorial Award’ (₹10 lakh) for the local self-government institution demonstrating excellence in the agricultural sector, the ‘V.V. Raghavan Memorial Award’ (₹5 lakh) for the best Krishi Bhavan, the ‘Padmashree K. Viswanathan Memorial Nelkathir Award’ (₹3 lakh), the ‘Sibi Kallingal Memorial Karshakothama Award’ (₹2 lakh), the ‘Kera Kesari Award’ (₹2 lakh), an award for the tribal individual/group engaged in traditional farming/seed conservation (₹2 lakh), and the ‘Best Organic Farmer Award’ (₹2 lakh).
