KOCHI : A memorial meeting was organized by the state chapter of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) at the Kaloor Pavakkulam Hindu Cultural Center to honor the memory of Desham R. Raveendran, the former VHP State General Secretary and senior Sangh parivar activist. The event commenced with a floral tribute, followed by the presentation of a condolence resolution by VHP State General Secretary Adv. Anil Vilayil. Condolence messages were delivered by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Pranthiya Karyakari member V. K. Viswanathan, Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi Working President M. Mohanan, Hindu Aikya Vedi Working President R. V. Babu, senior journalist T. Satheeshan, and VHP Working President V. R. Rajasekharan.
Speakers at the gathering remembered Desham R. Raveendran as a personality who had dedicated his life to Sangh activities since 1957 and made invaluable contributions to the growth of the organization in Kerala while serving as the VHP State General Secretary and in various other organizational capacities. They highlighted his leadership and organizational skills, particularly in the development of the Ernakulam Pavakkulam Temple and the VHP headquarters building. Those who spoke at the memorial meeting noted that his life, which remained firmly rooted in ideological commitment even during times of crisis, serves as an inspiration for future generations of activists, and his dedicated service to society will always be remembered.
