LUCKNOW: Addressing the convocation ceremony at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University on August 29, 2026, Union Minister of Defence Shri Rajnath Singh called upon the nation’s youth to acquire knowledge, question injustice through constitutional means, and foster change using democratic methods.
Invoking Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s mantra of “Educate, Agitate and Organise,” the Raksha Mantri emphasized that pursuit of social and economic goals must strictly align with constitutional principles, warning against unconstitutional practices and violence. He stated that true education should extend beyond academic learning to instill moral values, humility, and a commitment to societal welfare. Inspiring students to follow Swami Vivekananda’s vision, he urged them to transition into job creators, problem-solvers, and catalysts of positive change while working as a unified ‘Team India’ to achieve the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
Highlighting the growth of India’s education and innovation ecosystem over the past decade, Shri Rajnath Singh cited the doubling of R&D expenditure, the implementation of the National Education Policy, achievements in space technology, and India’s rise as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem. Reaffirming the Government’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for youth innovation, he stressed that cultural self-confidence, along with economic strength, is vital for national greatness. The ceremony was attended by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brajesh Pathak, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, and university faculty.
