NEW DELHI : Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh unveiled transformative policy initiatives to empower MSMEs and deep-tech start-ups during ‘VIMARSH’, a DRDO-Industry Synergy Meet held in New Delhi on September 15, 2026. Designed to lower technical and financial barriers, the new framework provides direct funding, incubation support, access to DRDO testing facilities, and a secure mechanism for sharing software source codes with licensee industries. During the event, 09 Licensing Agreements for Transfer of Technology (LAToTS) were handed over to 13 manufacturing partners, alongside strategic MoUs with Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM). A contract was also signed with the Quality Council of India for SAMAR 2.0 to benchmark domestic defense manufacturing maturity.
Reaffirming the goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047, Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized integrating MSMEs into global supply chains and expanding R&D collaborations across emerging fields like AI, hypersonics, and quantum computing. DRDO Chairman Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh highlighted that over 2,300 Technology Transfers have been executed to date across 1,100+ industries, making technologies for nearly 50 missile systems available to private partners.
