Aster DM Quality Care Commissions 10 MW Solar Power Project for Aster Medcity

KOCHI: Aster DM Quality Care has commissioned a 10 MW solar power project for Aster Medcity as part of its initiative to build sustainable and energy-efficient healthcare infrastructure. Developed in collaboration with Oystercatcher Renewable Energy Private Limited, the ground-mounted solar plant is located at Ambalathara and nearby villages in Hosdurg, Kasaragod. With an investment of ₹3.87 crore from Aster DM Quality Care, the project is expected to generate 1.6 to 1.75 crore units of green energy annually, covering over 90% of Aster Medcity’s total power requirements. Power distribution is facilitated through Oyster Green Hybrid Two Private Limited, in which Aster Group holds a 26% equity stake. Once fully operational, the project will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 23,138 metric tonnes per year. Highlighting the initiative, Ramesh Kumar, CEO (India 1) of Aster DM Quality Care, stated that the company remains committed to investing in sustainable healthcare infrastructure, while Siddharth Bhatia, MD & CEO of Oystercatcher Renewable Energy, expressed pride in partnering with Aster to establish a benchmark for green energy in critical healthcare operations.
