NEW DELHI : Reaffirming its dedication to clean governance and efficient public delivery for the nation’s veterans, the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW), under the Ministry of Defence, has stepped up its activities under the Government of India’s nationwide Special Campaign 6.0. Running from October 2 to October 31, 2026, the month-long initiative focuses on institutionalizing Swachhata (cleanliness), scientific e-waste management, workplace enhancement, and a systematic reduction of pending administrative references across all attached and subordinate establishments.
As part of the campaign, DESW is prioritizing responsible e-waste disposal under the ‘Waste to Wealth’ vision, alongside comprehensive Shramdaan drives to modernize office aesthetics and hygiene. Additionally, administrative workflows are being streamlined to accelerate the resolution of pending grievances and Parliamentary assurances concerning veterans. Department officials emphasized that these measures are designed not merely as temporary drives, but as long-term administrative practices to foster a cleaner, more responsive, and efficient ecosystem for serving India’s ex-servicemen community.
