Prayatna and Kochi Corporation Host Interactive ‘Emotions Installation’ at Subhash Park for World Mental Health Day

KOCHI: On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Prayatna Center for Child Development, in collaboration with the Kochi Municipal Corporation, hosted an interactive ‘Emotions Installation’ at Subhash Park to promote mental health awareness and emotional self-expression. The unique initiative was officially inaugurated by T.J. Vinod MLA, in the presence of Kochi Mayor Adv. Minimol V.K. and Ward Councillor K.V.P. Krishnakumar.

Titled ‘How is Kochi Feeling’, the installation featured interactive cylinders representing six core human emotional states: happiness, sadness, fear, anxiety, overwhelm, and anger. Visitors at the park were invited to identify their current emotional state and deposit tokens into the corresponding cylinders, receiving a tailored inspirational note offering encouragement and mental health guidance. Highlighting the initiative, Dr. Joseph Sunny Kunnassery, Founder and Chairman of Prayatna, stated that recognizing and naming one’s emotions without fear or stigma is the vital first step toward mental well-being, emphasizing the importance of creating safe spaces for children and adults alike to express their feelings.
