NEW DELHI : The Indian Navy will conduct the 2026 edition of the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD-2026), its apex-level international strategic conference, in New Delhi from November 3 to 5, 2026. Organized in association with the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), this year’s dialogue is centered on the theme ‘Science, Technology and Academic Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific’.
As the principal manifestation of the Indian Navy’s annual strategic outreach, IPRD-2026 aligns with the vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions) and translates the broad framework of the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI)—announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2019—into actionable outcomes.
Bringing together practitioners, scientists, academicians, and experts from 18 nations, the three-day conference will feature five professional thematic sessions:
-
Academic Networks, Research, and Human Capital Development
-
Maritime Situational Awareness and Protection of Critical Maritime Infrastructure
-
Oceanographic Science and Climate Resilience
-
Collaborative Approaches to Ocean Governance and Maritime Resilience
-
Transformative Maritime Technologies and Dual-Use Implications
The opening day will feature a special session titled ‘Perspectives from the Flag Bridge’ with former naval chiefs from India and Sri Lanka, an ambassadorial panel titled ‘Sahyog Ka Samvaad’, and a Commemorative Address by Defence Minister (Raksha Mantri) Shri Rajnath Singh. The dialogue aims to establish concrete pathways for joint research, responsible ocean governance, data sharing, and institutional partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region.
