AMMA Declares Non-Cooperation with Film Industry Strike

AMMA has decided not to cooperate with the film industry strike, stating that it could worsen the financial crisis and impact thousands dependent on the sector.

Kochi: The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has announced that it will not support the strike called by a section of Malayalam film producers. The decision was made during a special meeting of AMMA members, as confirmed by the ad-hoc committee.

The meeting emphasized that the film industry is already facing a severe financial crisis, and dragging it into an unnecessary strike due to the stubbornness of certain individuals would further aggravate the situation. The committee also pointed out that such actions would not only impact the industry’s economy but also severely affect the livelihoods of workers dependent on cinema.

Additionally, AMMA assured all possible legal assistance to its member Jayan Cherthala regarding ongoing issues. Prominent film actors including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Joju George, Biju Menon, Vijayaraghavan, Saikumar, Manju Pillai, and Bindu Panicker attended the meeting.
