AOICON 2025: A Landmark Return to Kerala After 25 Years

AOICON 2025 returns to Kochi after 25 years, highlighting major advancements in ENT treatment and offering extensive learning opportunities for medical professionals.

 

Kochi: The four-day national conference of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI), taking place at Le Meridien, Ernakulam, marks the return of the event to Kerala and Kochi after 25 years, as noted by Dr. Matthew Dominic, Chairman of the Organizing Committee.

The 76th national conference, AOICON 2025, holds special significance as it brings together experts from various fields of ENT surgery. Dr. Dominic highlighted that the conference was last held in Kerala in 2000, also at Le Meridien Hotel. After a gap of 25 years, the event has returned to Kochi, offering a valuable opportunity for the region to witness advancements in ENT treatments.

Dr. Dominic also noted the remarkable changes in the field of ENT over the past quarter-century. Specializations in areas such as cochlear implants, surgeries to prevent ear aging, ear balancing treatments, and endoscopic skull base surgery have emerged. Furthermore, the sector has seen advancements in surgeries related to the throat and neck, neuro-laryngology, head and neck surgery, and plastic surgery.

Originally, the conference was conducted in two halls, but today, the event spans 12 halls, hosting seminars, lectures, and discussions on various subfields within ENT. Delegates can choose topics of interest and participate in classes and discussions led by experts. Dr. Dominic emphasized that these advancements in ENT medicine have provided a substantial opportunity for practitioners to enhance their skills and improve their treatment methods.
