AI may advance, but it will never replace human intelligence, say industry leaders at the Summit of the Future 2025, stressing the need for practical startup ideas and personalized learning in education.

Kochi: Artificial Intelligence (AI) may advance, but it can never replace humans, said Dr. Tom Joseph, Director of New Initiatives at Jain University and a startup investor. He emphasized that the key to any business is people, not just technology. He was speaking at the panel discussion on the topic “Rising to the Future” at the Summit of the Future 2025.

“A business cannot grow without thinking about wealth creation and profitability. The foundation of any business is its people. Even with AI, only humans can replace humans. Currently, startups have become a trend rather than a passion. Earlier, writing and filmmaking were considered passions, but if ten people rejected a story, the writer would stop. Similarly, the startup sector needs corrective measures. If a startup idea is not practical, it should be guided accordingly. Some are harming the startup ecosystem by promoting ideas with no real value,” Dr. Tom Joseph stated.

AI may not replace humans, but it can simplify tasks. Future generations will be able to build complex digital solutions, like websites, in mere moments using AI. Tarun Lee Jose, co-founder of Rooms & Racks, noted that AI would be especially beneficial for the quick commerce sector.

With AI, businesses can communicate with customers in any language, making interactions more seamless. However, AI is not a threat to human intelligence, said Naurin Ayesha, co-founder of Femi Safe.

The education sector is expected to experience the most significant transformation due to AI. Over the past century, education has seen minimal changes. “My father, myself, and my son have studied in nearly the same system. Even today, a single teacher handles 60 students in a classroom, creating a gap between high achievers and struggling students. This limitation exists because teachers cannot provide personalized attention. Now, technology enables personalized learning,” explained Ajas Mohammed, founder of Eduport Academy.

The panel discussion also featured Deepak H, co-founder and director of ELT Global, and Dr. Benson Benjamin, founder and CEO of MEDIPG.
