The project is expected to create over 500 new job opportunities across various sectors, including healthcare, technology, hospitality, and manufacturing.
Kochi: A ₹250-crore ‘AyurTech’ Ayurveda project has been announced at Kurichy with the aim of positioning Kerala as a global centre for preventive healthcare and wellness tourism. The project combines Kerala’s traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to predict diseases and prevent them at an early stage.
The first phase of the project has already started at Karimban in Idukki. The investment will be implemented in three phases. As part of this, an AI-powered AyurTech and wellness destination will be developed. The project will also include “Work from Nature” residential facilities and a modern medicine manufacturing unit. More than 500 job opportunities are expected to be created in healthcare, technology, hospitality and manufacturing sectors.
Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Jithin J. Kurichy, Director of Kurichy Ayurveda, said the aim of the project is not just to treat symptoms but to address diseases at their root. By combining AI-based predictive diagnostics with Ayurvedic knowledge, the initiative hopes to provide long-term solutions for chronic pain and lifestyle diseases.
Visitors to the facility will have access to a 24-hour wearable health tracking system. Using AI technology, the system can analyse more than 1.3 million patterns linked to around 15,000 to 20,000 disease conditions. This will help in real-time health monitoring and accurate recommendations.
The project is also expected to support local agro-tourism and contribute to a new phase of growth in Kerala’s healthcare sector. Dr. Ammu Mathew, Director of Kurichy Ayurveda, E.K. Shaji, Vice President (Operations), and Sreenath Tulsidharan, Vice President (Marketing and Sales), were also present at the press conference.
