ICMAI Kochi Chapter held a two-day seminar focusing on Total Cost Management (TCM) and industry competitiveness in observance of World MSME Day. Inaugurated by KSIDC General Manager Varghese Malakkaran, the event emphasized cost reduction during production to ensure competitive pricing in the market.

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), Kochi Chapter, in association with CII, conducted a two-day seminar on the theme “Total Cost Management – Enhancing Industry Competitiveness” as part of World MSME Day celebrations.
The event was inaugurated by Varghese Malakkaran, General Manager of KSIDC, Thiruvananthapuram, who emphasized that Total Cost Management (TCM) is a strategic approach that helps reduce expenses during the manufacturing phase, ultimately leading to more affordable products for consumers and improved sustainability for companies.
Srinivas Prasad, Vice President of ICMAI, presided over the session.
Other speakers included: Nagesh Babu (Principal Counsellor, CII-TCM), R Ranjini (Chairperson, ICMAI Kochi Chapter), S Arun Kumar (Secretary, ICMAI Kochi Chapter) . The seminar focused on identifying cost optimization techniques early in the production cycle to enhance competitiveness and value delivery in the MSME sector.
