Indira Gandhi Co-operative Hospital and Chicking Heart Care Launch Free Heart Surgery Program for 100 Patients

Indira Gandhi Co-operative Hospital and Chicking Heart Care have partnered to provide free heart surgeries and follow-up treatments for 100 underprivileged patients.

 

Kochi: Indira Gandhi Co-operative Hospital, in collaboration with Chicking Heart Care, has launched an initiative to provide free heart surgeries and follow-up treatment for 100 heart patients. As part of this initiative, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, with Chicking (Mansoor Foods India Private Limited) Managing Director A.K. Mansoor handing over the agreement to the hospital’s Secretary Ajay Tharayil.

Speaking at the event, Kerala High Court Judge Justice P. Gopinath Menon emphasized the importance of using financial resources to help those in need. “No amount of wealth can bring true happiness. True fulfillment comes when our wealth is used to support and uplift others,” he stated. Justice Menon also highlighted the noble role of doctors and the significance of financially supporting underprivileged patients. “There is no doubt that doctors play a divine role in saving lives. Equally important is providing financial assistance to patients who lack the means for critical medical treatment. I strongly believe that there is no greater service than this,” he added.

The event, held at the Indira Gandhi Co-operative Hospital premises, was presided over by M.O. John, President of the hospital’s governing committee. The hospital honored renowned cardiac surgeons Dr. George J. Valooran and Dr. Geo Paul C. for their contributions to the field. Several distinguished personalities attended the event, including hospital Vice President Adv. B.A. Abdul Muthalib, Directors Augustus Cyril, P.V. Ashraf, Alappat Muraleedharan, Dr. Haseena Mohammed, Iqbal Valiyaveettil, Indirabhai Prasad, N.A. Abraham, P.D. Ashokan, and K.P. Vijay Kumar, Medical Superintendent Dr. S. Sachidananda Kammath, and Project Coordinators Faisal Bafakki Thangal and G. Madhavan Kutty.

This initiative marks a significant step towards providing life-saving treatment to financially disadvantaged heart patients, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to accessible and inclusive healthcare.
