Instamart Gaining Popularity in Kochi with Surge in Local Product Demand

Instamart is fast becoming a favorite service in Kochi, reflecting the growing trend of quick commerce becoming an integral part of everyday life.

Kochi: Quick commerce is finding a warm welcome in Kochi, as Instamart gains rapid popularity — with strong demand for everything from coconuts to gold. Since its launch in 2021, Instamart has seen significant growth in the city, transforming into a key platform that caters to both daily essentials and high-value items. Kochi’s strong local identity has driven an increase in the demand for regional products. Between January and June 2024, coconut sales rose by 66%, and coconut oil sales grew by 32%. Among dairy items, local brands like Milma Toned Milk rank among the top-selling products.

The average delivery time is approximately 11 minutes, with the peak ordering window between 6:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Instamart is now expanding both its services and reach, currently delivering in over 125 cities. It has also launched ‘Megapods’ to stock up to 50,000 products, and a new ‘MaxSaver’ feature for budget-friendly shopping options, according to company officials.
