Dr. P.V. Louis, Managing Director, emphasized that the newly inaugurated multi-storied South Block, located adjacent to the existing hospital, aims to enhance super-specialty services such as robotic surgery, transplant centers, bi-plane cath labs, bone marrow transplant, CAR-T cell therapy, and to further bolster medical tourism.
Kochi: Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar stated that Medical Trust Hospital has grown over the years by ensuring both prompt medical services and compassionate care—elements that form the foundation of its success. Credibility in the healthcare sector is the true capital of an institution, he remarked.
The Governor was speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed South Block of Medical Trust Hospital, held at Taj Vivanta, Ernakulam. The growth envisioned by the hospital’s founder, Dr. Varghese Pulicken, has now become a reality. Despite India completing 75 years of independence, many rural areas still lack adequate access to medical services. Governments alone cannot bridge this gap due to inherent limitations. Therefore, he urged reputed hospitals to extend their services to rural areas through structured initiatives.
The event was welcomed by Dr. P.V. Thomas, Director – Medical & Commercial. Minister P. Rajeev, MP Hibi Eden, MLA T.J. Vinod, and Dr. P.V. Louis, Managing Director of Medical Trust, also addressed the gathering. Finance Director P.V. Xavier presented a memento to the Governor.
A multi-storied South Block has been developed adjacent to the existing hospital to expand and enhance focus on super-specialty departments such as robotic surgery, transplant centers, bi-plane cath labs, bone marrow transplant, and CAR-T cell therapy, as well as to boost medical tourism, according to the Managing Director.
