Mumbai Indians Acquires 49% Stake in Oval Invincibles, Expanding Global Cricket Presence

Mumbai Indians is acquiring a 49% stake in Oval Invincibles, further expanding its global cricket footprint with seven teams across four continents.

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians, owned by Reliance Industries Limited, has announced that through its subsidiary RISE Worldwide, it is acquiring a 49% stake in the London-based cricket franchise Oval Invincibles. The team is part of The Hundred, a professional franchise tournament governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and legal formalities.

Welcoming Oval Invincibles to the Mumbai Indians family, Nita M. Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, expressed her excitement over this expansion. With this deal, Mumbai Indians will further strengthen its position as a global cricket powerhouse, now owning seven teams across four continents and five countries in both men’s and women’s cricket.
