Taj Kochi International Airport Hotel, opening on December 28, is part of Cochin International Airport’s efforts to become a South Indian aviation hub, featuring 111 rooms, luxury amenities, and 24-hour dining options, with plans to attract more investments and enhance services as passenger traffic grows.

Kochi: As part of the efforts to transform Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) into a hub for aviation in South India, the new Taj Kochi International Airport hotel will open on December 28. The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for 11 AM, will be led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

This development is a key component of CIAL’s master plan to enhance services and facilities for passengers, and to introduce new services. The Taj hotel is part of the land use plan under the master plan and has been built by CIAL. The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the parent company of Taj, was selected through a global tender for its construction and operation.

Located just 500 meters from the terminals, the Taj Kochi International Airport hotel can be reached within 15 minutes of landing. The hotel offers 111 rooms, including presidential suites, banquet halls, boardrooms, pre-function areas, a swimming pool, a spacious lobby, a bar, and a fitness center, all designed in a five-star style. Taj’s popular Vista restaurant (open 24 hours) and House of Ming restaurant offer a variety of dining experiences.

The hotel, set on a 4-acre plot, also features expansive parking space. According to CIAL Managing Director S. Suhas, the hotel marks a significant milestone in the growth of CIAL as a South Indian aviation hub. With the completion of the master plan, further investments will be attracted, and more job opportunities will be created. CIAL currently welcomes around 10 million passengers annually, with expectations to reach 15 million within three years. With increasing traffic, CIAL also plans to enhance passenger services accordingly.
