The Gift of Reading program at SRV School, envisioned under the leadership of Prof. B.R. Ajith and supported by Rotary, awarded scholarships to students excelling in reading, promoting a culture of literacy and learning.
Kochi, September 17, 2025 – To promote the habit of reading among children, the Rotary Club of Cochin Midtown distributed scholarships to the winners of the Gift of Reading initiative implemented at SRV School, Ernakulam. The scholarships were awarded to the outstanding readers for the months of July and August across LP, UP, High School, and Higher Secondary categories.
The initiative, launched on July 1, aims to encourage consistent reading by awarding monthly scholarships to students who excel in reading. The program was announced by Prof. B.R. Ajith, Architect, SRVS Friends Chairman, and Past District Governor of Rotary.
At the scholarship distribution ceremony held at SRV School Auditorium, Adv. P. Gopakumar, President of Rotary Club of Cochin Midtown, presided over the function. Prof. B.R. Ajith presented the scholarships to the student winners.
School leaders including A.N. Biju (Principal, SRV High School), Jinsi Joseph (Principal, Vocational Higher Secondary School), T.K. Seema (Headmistress, High School), and P.P. Sajini (Headmistress, UP School) addressed the gathering. Past Presidents of Rotary Club of Cochin Midtown T.T. Thomas and K.K. George also spoke.
Scholarships were distributed to winners across LP, UP, High School, Higher Secondary, and Vocational Higher Secondary levels, reinforcing the importance of reading as a foundation for academic growth and lifelong learning.
