Kochi: Bandhan Bank has reached a significant milestone of 2,000 branches on its 11th anniversary, strengthening its position among India’s leading private sector banks. The milestone was achieved with the opening of a new branch at Egmore in Chennai, taking the bank’s total number of banking outlets across the country to 6,400. With this expansion, Bandhan Bank has joined the ranks of the top three private sector banks in terms of branch network. The bank aims to further strengthen its presence across urban, semi-urban and rural markets. As part of its digital banking initiatives, the bank has also introduced the mBandhan Lite mobile application, offering simplified digital banking services for microfinance customers. The app provides Aadhaar-based onboarding, access to account information, loan repayment facilities, statements and certificates, chatbot assistance, and support in English, Hindi and Bengali. Bandhan Bank currently has a presence in 35 of India’s 36 states and Union Territories.
