Nedumbassery: The seven-day residential NSS camp ‘Unarvu 2026’, organised by NSS Unit No. 58 of Morning Star Home Science College, Angamaly, at Nedumbassery MAHSS, concluded successfully. Held from August 21 to 27, the camp featured a wide range of social, environmental and awareness-oriented activities.
The inaugural ceremony, held on August 21 at 5 p.m., was presided over by Dr. C. Shemi George, Principal of Morning Star Home Science College. Jessie George, President of Nedumbassery Grama Panchayat, inaugurated the camp, while Metropolitan Yuhanon Policarpos delivered the benediction address.
‘A Drug-Free and TB-Free India’ was the central theme of the camp. Various classes and awareness programmes were conducted on topics including anti-drug awareness, TB prevention, environmental protection, financial discipline, personality development and skill development. Cultural programmes presented by NSS volunteers, along with various camp activities, added vibrancy to the seven-day programme.
Dr. E.N. Sivadas, NSS Coordinator of Mahatma Gandhi University, and Prof. (Dr.) D. Mavoothu, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, visited the camp and interacted with the volunteers.
