Tata Motors and PETRONAS Join Hands for Environmental Protection

Kochi: PETRONAS Lubricants India and Tata Motors have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at the collection and recycling of used automotive lubricants. The pilot initiative, being implemented in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, will facilitate the scientific collection of used lubricants and their transfer to authorised recyclers. The programme seeks to promote the efficient use of resources and reduce environmental risks by converting used oil into high-quality re-refined base oil. Both companies expressed confidence that the initiative will contribute significantly to India’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework and support the country’s circular economy objectives.
