Both sides display attacking intent and defensive discipline as an evenly contested ISL clash ends 0–0 at Kaloor.
Kochi: Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC shared the honours in an engaging goalless draw in the 2026–27 Indian Super League at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi, on Sunday.
The contest brought together two determined sides, with Kerala Blasters looking to make an impression in their first home appearance of the season and Mumbai City demonstrating resilience against the hosts’ attacking pressure. Despite several promising moves at both ends, organised defending and alert goalkeeping ensured that neither team found the breakthrough. Backed by an enthusiastic home crowd, Kerala Blasters began positively, using the width of the pitch to create early opportunities. Mohammed Sanan was particularly active down the left flank, while Korou Singh added pace on the opposite side. Captain Adrian Luna and Nebojša Kosović provided direction in midfield, helping the hosts maintain attacking momentum.

One of the earliest opportunities arrived in the fifth minute when Sanan delivered a cross into the penalty area. Luna met the ball with a header, but his effort went narrowly wide. Hormipam followed with an attempt that found the side netting, while Sanan tested the Mumbai defence again with a powerful effort from outside the box in the 17th minute.
Mumbai City responded with a composed defensive approach, absorbing pressure and looking for opportunities to move forward through the flanks. Their ability to maintain their shape under sustained attacks proved important, with the visitors preventing Kerala Blasters from converting their early momentum into a lead. At the other end, Mumbai’s attacking movements kept the home defence occupied. Kerala Blasters goalkeeper Amrinder Singh remained alert, making important interventions as the visitors sought openings. The defensive organisation of both teams contributed to a closely fought first half.
The second half continued in a similar competitive spirit, with both sides searching for a decisive moment. Kerala Blasters head coach Ashley Westwood introduced Sreekuttan, Ebin Das and Andre Green to bring fresh energy into the attacking department. Mumbai City also maintained their attacking intent, testing the hosts’ defensive concentration as the match progressed. Kerala Blasters, meanwhile, continued to build moves through midfield and the wide areas, with Freddy Lallawmawma adding another dimension through his long-range attempts

As the contest entered its closing stages, both teams remained committed to finding a winner. However, neither defensive unit allowed the opposition to gain a decisive advantage, and the final whistle confirmed a point apiece.
Beyond the scoreline, the encounter highlighted the contrasting strengths that shaped the evening. Kerala Blasters displayed encouraging coordination in midfield, movement along the flanks and improved defensive stability. Mumbai City combined disciplined defending with purposeful attacking transitions, remaining competitive throughout the contest. The result also underlined the contributions of the players responsible for protecting their respective goals, as both teams finished with clean sheets.
With the draw, Kerala Blasters moved to fifth place in the league standings with four points from three matches. The Kochi side will next travel to Chennai to face Chennaiyin FC on Saturday, October 31.
