HDFC Bank Empowers Over 1.8 Lakh Citizens Through Nationwide ‘Cyber Fraud Suraksha’ Awareness Campaign

KOCHI: As part of its commitment to enhancing digital financial literacy and security, HDFC Bank successfully educated over 1.8 lakh citizens through its nationwide ‘Cyber Fraud Suraksha’ campaign. Conducted between July and October 2026, the initiative encompassed more than 8,800 awareness workshops across India.

The targeted workshops engaged diverse demographics—including students, senior citizens, bank customers, and corporate employees. Expert sessions detailed prevailing cybercrime vectors such as ‘digital arrests’, fraudulent investment schemes, employment scams, and deceptive QR code traps.

Emphasizing foundational digital hygiene, HDFC Bank cautioned the public against sharing sensitive banking credentials, including One-Time Passwords (OTPs), CVV numbers, and UPI PINs with anyone. In the event of falling victim to financial cybercrime, the bank strongly advised citizens to report the incident immediately by dialing the official cybercrime helpline 1930
