THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : In a pioneering milestone for India’s law enforcement agencies, Kochi-based Aster Medcity, in collaboration with the Wisdom Development Foundation, successfully trained all personnel at the Kerala Police Headquarters in life-saving Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques. The training was conducted as a key milestone of ‘Mission 100K’, a statewide public health awareness campaign aimed at imparting CPR skills to one hundred thousand individuals across Kerala. Upon completion of the rigorous module, the headquarters personnel were officially designated as certified “Kerala First Responders”.

With cardiac arrests requiring immediate intervention, the first few minutes prior to ambulance arrival are critical for survival. Because police officers are frequently among the first responders at accident scenes and public emergencies, equipping the force with professional CPR capabilities significantly bolsters the state’s emergency response ecosystem.

During the ceremonial event, a formal certificate of appreciation—jointly signed by Wisdom4Future Patron and Ambassador T.P. Srinivasan, IFS, and Dr. Johnson K. Varghese, Head of Emergency Department at Aster Medcity—was presented to Kerala Police Headquarters IG Harshita Attalluri, IPS. The event was graced by AIG (Personnel) G. Poonkuzhali, IPS, Aster Medcity Chief Operating Officer Dr. Shuhaib Kader, and Wisdom4Future Founder and Project Director Michael Mathew.

Highlighting the overwhelming response, Aster Medcity COO Dr. Shuhaib Kader noted the immense enthusiasm shown by the armed forces, naval units, and various government departments in adopting this vital life-saving skill. Project Director Michael Mathew added that Kerala is setting a national benchmark in emergency preparedness, with the initiative poised to serve as a replicable model for other states. Following this milestone, ‘Mission 100K’ will expand its outreach to district police units, government departments, educational institutions, and civic organizations across the state.
