Aster Spine Center Launches ‘Nadu Vandi’ Awareness Drive and ‘Spine Up’ Fitness Challenge on World Spine Day

KOCHI: Commemorating World Spine Day, Aster Medcity’s Aster Spine Center organized a unique mobile public awareness initiative named ‘Nadu Vandi’, alongside a specialized ‘Spine Up’ fitness challenge, to educate the public on spinal health and posture care. Conducted in collaboration with Decathlon Kalamassery, the campaign carried the core message: “To talk about back health, along the roads of our land.”

The ‘Nadu Vandi’ awareness vehicle was officially flagged off from Aster Medcity by a panel of clinical experts, including Dr. Dilip Panicker (Senior Consultant, Neurosurgery), Dr. K.M. Mathew (Senior Consultant, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation – PMR), along with Dr. Anoop P. Nair, Dr. Anoop Thomas, and Dr. Ranjith K.R. from the Aster Spine Center. The mobile campaign traversed major traffic arteries and key public spots across Kochi, engaging citizens on spinal care, ergonomic posture, and preventative back exercises.

Simultaneously, Aster Medcity hosted the ‘Spine Up’ fitness challenge on its hospital campus in partnership with the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Designed to assess individual core stability and spine strength, participants engaged in fitness routines such as half-squats and planks under professional guidance.

Highlighting the objective, clinical specialists noted that with rising instances of chronic lower back pain and sedentary posture issues, the initiative aims to encourage active lifestyle habits and preventive care to safeguard spinal health amidst fast-paced modern routines.
