Senior Citizens Can Earn Up to 8.15% Annually
KOCHI : India’s leading non-banking financial company, Bajaj Finance Limited, has announced an upward revision in its Fixed Deposit (FD) interest rates by 15 to 40 basis points across tenures ranging from 12 to 60 months. Effective October 07, 2026, the updated rates apply to both new deposits and existing renewals, with the highest rate hikes focused on long-term tenures. For tenures between 31 and 60 months, interest rates have been increased by 35 basis points for general depositors and 40 basis points for senior citizens. Under the revised structure, general depositors can earn up to 7.75% per annum, while senior citizens can secure up to 8.15% per annum on cumulative deposits.
To incentivize customer retention, Bajaj Finance is offering an additional interest rate benefit of 0.10% per annum on FD renewals. This raises the peak effective yield to 7.85% per annum for general depositors and 8.25% per annum for senior citizens. Investors can choose between cumulative payouts at maturity or non-cumulative options offering monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annual income streams. Commenting on the hike, Sachin Sikka, Senior Executive Vice President – Deposits & Wealth Management at Bajaj Finance, highlighted that fixed deposits remain a vital anchor for balanced investment portfolios, particularly for retirees seeking guaranteed returns. Backed by top-tier ‘AAA/Stable’ credit ratings from CRISIL and ICRA, investors can book or renew deposits digitally via the Bajaj Finance website and mobile app or through branch networks starting with a minimum deposit of ₹15,000.
