Defence Secretary Inaugurates Hindi Library ‘Gyandeep’ at Sena Bhawan Under Special Campaign 6.0

KOCHI: As part of the ongoing nationwide Special Campaign 6.0 led by the Ministry of Defence, Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh inaugurated ‘Gyandeep’, a newly established Hindi library at Sena Bhawan, New Delhi, on October 22, 2026. The initiative is designed to promote Hindi literature, foster greater usage of Rajbhasha in official administrative duties, and enrich the institutional reading culture within defence headquarters.

Under the month-long campaign (running from October 2 to 31, 2026), the Ministry of Defence achieved major administrative and infrastructural efficiency milestones. Notably, approximately 35,000 square feet of prime space in South Block was freed up through systematic record disposal and officially handed over to the Project Yuga Yugeen Bharat Museum (YYBM). Administrative streamlining led to the closure of 1,361 e-files and the weeding out of 1,746 physical files, while the disposal of e-waste and obsolete materials generated revenue amounting to ₹4.22 lakh.

To commemorate special contributions to the cleanliness drive, the Defence Secretary felicitated eight Swachhta Veers. Regular maintenance, office deep-cleaning, and e-waste segregation protocols are actively being conducted across all key Ministry of Defence establishments, including Sena Bhawan, Kartavya Bhawan-II, Vayu Bhawan, and KG Marg.
