Kochi: Lavanyam 2026, jointly organised by the Kerala Department of Tourism, Ernakulam District Administration and the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), will conclude on August 30. The valedictory ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at Veli Ground in Fort Kochi.
Traffic restrictions have been introduced in the Fort Kochi area in connection with the event. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Muhammad Shiyas M.L.A. as part of preparations for the programme. Traffic restrictions will be implemented at the Papangamukku–Fort Kochi, Parippu Junction–Koovappadam and Jubilee Junction–Fort Kochi Veli routes.
The public has been advised to use public transportation as much as possible and avoid parking vehicles along the roadsides. Parking facilities for two-wheelers will be available at Triangle Square, while additional parking arrangements have been made at Edward Memorial School, Parade Ground, Santa Cruz Ground and Cochin College. The Ro-Ro service will operate until 11 p.m. on the day of the event.
ADM K. Manoj, Disaster Management Deputy Collector Joseph Stephen Roby and officials from various departments attended the meeting.
