Social service projects worth ₹10 crores, including housing, education, and medical aid, to be implemented this year.
KOCHI: The joint convention and installation of new office bearers of Young Minds International (an international voluntary service organization) India Area and Region Two will be held tomorrow (Saturday, July 11). The meeting will commence at 6:00 PM at Hotel Renai, Palarivattom, Kochi, under the chairmanship of Convention Chairman Santhosh George. State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob will inaugurate the convention.
Uma Thomas, MLA, will inaugurate the organization’s major social service initiatives for this year: the ‘Renal Care and Dialysis Project’ and the ‘Housing Project’. Prasad Panicker, Chairman and Managing Director of Nayara Energy, will deliver the keynote address.
As part of the Renal Care and Dialysis Project, free dialysis coupons will be distributed over the next year to provide relief to eligible kidney patients. The ongoing dialysis project will be expanded to more hospitals by installing dialysis machines to provide free dialysis services. Convention Committee Chairman Santhosh George, Area President-elect I.C. Raju, Regional Chairman Jose Alphonse, and Area Treasurer Pratheesh Paul stated in a press conference held at the Ernakulam Press Club that social service projects worth ₹10 crores—including housing, education, and medical financial assistance—will be implemented this year for deserving individuals.
During the convention, Young Minds International President Dr. K.C. Samuel will induct the new office bearers.
The incoming India Area office bearers are I.C. Raju (President), Jacob Philip (Secretary), Pratheesh Paul (Treasurer), and Suresh Kumar (Bulletin Editor). The Regional office bearers taking charge are M.S. Anil Kumar (Chairman), Minu Anna Mathew (Secretary), Madhu Menon (Treasurer), and Rajesh Arakkal (Bulletin Editor).
International Secretary General Mathukutty Sebastian, Treasurer Antony Joseph, Bulletin Editor Daniel Thomas, Area President Anto K. Antony, Area Secretary Michael K. Michael, Regional Chairman Jose Alphonse, and Grand Council members Isaac Palathingal, K.M. Skariachan, and International Presidium member Bijumon K.S. will also speak at the event.
