As part of the 15th Biennial Conference, 15 houses are being constructed in Kerala, alongside an ongoing project to build homes for 25 tribal families.
Kochi : The 30th International Annual Conference of the World Malayali Council (WMC), the largest global organization of non-resident Keralites, will be held from August 21 to 24, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, USA. This announcement was made during a press conference in Kochi by WMC Global President John Mathai, Global Secretary Christopher Varghese, Global Vice President P.B. Boss, India Region Chairman Adv. K.V. Sabu, India Region President Adv. M.G. Sreejith, and Kerala Council Secretary Adv. Asha Paul.
Attended by Malayali delegates from around the globe, the conference will feature a variety of seminars, panel discussions, cultural events, and the announcement of philanthropic initiatives. The organizers stated that this year’s Dallas Global Conference will place strong emphasis on the advancement and solidarity of the Pravasi community as well as the global Malayali diaspora. Formed in New Jersey in 1995, the organization maintains a powerful presence in over 40 countries. Preparations for the annual international convention are currently underway under the leadership of key office bearers, including Global Chairman Gopala Pillai (USA), Global President John Mathai (UAE), General Secretary Christopher Varghese (UAE), Global Treasurer Sashikumar Nair (India), Ninan Mathai (Philadelphia), Prof. Sam Mannarikkode (New York), Jolly Periyattil (Germany), Babu Thalangattil (Bahrain), Adv. M.G. Sreejith (India), and Aneesh James (USA). Furthermore, officials shared that as part of the 15th Biennial Conference, 15 houses are being constructed in Kerala, alongside an ongoing project to build homes for 25 tribal families.
The WMC International Awards were also announced as part of the Dallas Global Conference. The ‘Humanitarian Golden Lantern Award’—instituted in memory of the late Dr. P.A. Ibrahim Haji, a renowned philanthropist and founder of the PACE Education Group—will be presented to Punalur Somarajan, founder of the Gandhi Bhavan care centers. This award honors the legacy of Dr. Ibrahim Haji, who served as chairman of institutions comprising schools and colleges across the UAE, India, and Kuwait, educating over 20,000 students. Additionally, officials announced at the press conference that the World Malayali Council Global Business Excellence Award will be presented to Mobi Kavareyath Babu, Founder and CEO of Encourse.
