VHP will initiate year-long community empowerment projects across every village in Kerala
KOCHI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) National Joint General Secretary V. Koteswara Rao officially inaugurated the newly reconstructed four-story regional headquarters of the VHP Kochi Mahanagaram Committee at Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, on October 02, 2026, dedicating it as the “Ashok Singhal Birth Centenary Memorial Kutumba Prabodhana Kendra.” Addressing the gathering, Koteswara Rao highlighted that legendary VHP leader late Ashok Singhal played a transformative role in driving historical socio-cultural movements—such as the Ekatmata Rath Yatra, cultural heritage protection campaigns, monastic leadership integration, and the Ram Janmabhoomi movement—which have fundamentally re-anchored national pride and cultural identity in modern India. The ceremony also formally launched year-long national birth centenary celebrations honoring Ashok Singhal, coinciding with VHP’s Shashtipoorthi (60th anniversary) celebrations and the closing phase of the RSS Centenary Year.
Outlining the organization’s expansive social service roadmap, VHP State General Secretary Adv. Anil Vilayil announced that the VHP will initiate year-long community empowerment projects across every village in Kerala, including the establishment of Kaushal Vikas Kendras (Skill Development Centers) and local service facilities named in memory of Ashok Singhal. The inauguration was presided over by VHP State President K.C. Narendran, with spiritual blessings delivered by Swami Sharadananda Saraswati of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth and Swami Anaghamritananda Puri of Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
