KOCHI: Extending accessible healthcare and preventive wellness services to the community, VPS Lakeshore Hospital recently organized a mega medical camp at Poonithura in observance of Gandhi Jayanthi. Conducted in active collaboration with Kochi Corporation Divisions 46 and 47 alongside the Poonithura NSS Karayogam, the community health initiative drew hundreds of local residents seeking specialized medical consultations.
The medical camp was officially inaugurated by Kochi Mayor Adv. Minimol V.K. Highlighting the importance of proactive healthcare, the Mayor stated that preventive wellness and early detection are far superior to post-diagnosis treatments, commending VPS Lakeshore and local representatives for organizing the outreach initiative. Poonithura NSS Karayogam President Jayan Palaayil presided over the function, which featured addresses by local councillors V.P. Chandran, Xavier P. Antony, and A. Ratheesh Kumar, alongside community leaders R. Saakhil, K.R. Nandanath, V.K. Raveendranath, and Srini Menon.
A major highlight of the event was the launch and distribution of the VPS Lakeshore Privilege Card, designed to offer exclusive healthcare concessions to residents of Kochi Corporation. Mayor Adv. Minimol V.K. formally received the inaugural card from T. Anilkumar, Manager of Corporate Communications at VPS Lakeshore. Cardholders will benefit from free initial hospital registration and doctor consultations, alongside special discounts including 50 percent off on emergency services, 15 percent off on outpatient (OP) consultations, and 10 percent off on inpatient (IP) billing.
Specialized medical evaluations were provided at the camp by expert clinical teams across cardiology, gynecology, urology, ENT, and general medicine, alongside dedicated awareness sessions by the hospital’s home care division.
