KOCHI: Xiaomi India has announced the launch of its latest smartphone, the Redmi Note 17 5G, in Kochi. The device features an 8,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 6.9-inch TrueColor AMOLED display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 mobile platform, and extended software support. The phone will be available starting August 13 via Mi.com, Amazon, and Xiaomi retail outlets.
Despite housing a massive battery, the device maintains an 8.4 mm profile, offering 45W turbo charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, with Xiaomi claiming up to three days of battery life under normal usage. The AMOLED display boasts a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate, 1,800 nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Hydro Touch 2.0, TUV Rheinland eye care certification, and speakers with 200% volume boost.
The Redmi Note 17 5G offers up to 16GB RAM (including memory extension), up to 2TB expandable storage, and a graphite cooling system. Its camera setup includes a 50MP AI dual rear camera and an 8MP AI front camera, supported by features such as Night Mode, AI HDR, Dynamic Shots, AI Editor, and 2x in-sensor zoom.
Running on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, Xiaomi promises 4 years of Android updates and 6 years of security updates. The phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, an IP65 rating, and is available in Dark Night, Arctic Blue, and Starlight Purple options.
The 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at an MRP of ₹27,999, while the 8GB + 128GB variant is set at ₹30,999. With launch offers, effective prices start at ₹24,999 and ₹27,999 respectively. Customers using select bank credit cards and EMI transactions can avail an instant discount of ₹3,000. Additionally, Jio True 5G users receive 5TB JioAI Cloud storage, a 3-month YouTube Premium Lite subscription, and a 6-month Google One membership.
