Kochi : A three-day Kanakadhara Yagam, based on the KanakadharaStavam by Adi Shankaracharya, will be held from April 17 to 19 at Durbar Hall Ground, Ernakulam, as part of Sree Sankara Jayanti celebrations. The event is organised by the Kerala State Hindu Devaswom Board.
The brochure of the yagam was released at a press conference held in Kochi. Organisers said the main aim of the program is to bring prosperity and well-being to people by invoking the blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi and to help overcome poverty and hardships.
Around 1,238 families from different parts of Kerala will take part in the yagam. The program will begin on April 17 with the Dhwaja Pratishta. The main rituals will start at 6:30 am on April 18. Several dignitaries, including Union Ministers, film personalities and public figures, are expected to attend.
Various homams and poojas, including Ganapathi, Navagraha, Sudarshana and Mahalakshmi homams, will be performed as part of the program, which will conclude with Mahapoornahuti.
The rituals will be led by Brahmashree Shankara Subramania Sivacharya, Thantri of Madurai Meenakshi Temple, along 29 co-priests, including Melshanthi Shrimad Bhagyaraj Shivacharya of Tirunelveli Sree Tripuranandeshwaran Temple, will lead the Yagam rituals. Acharyas include Bhagavatha Choodamani Dr. Sunil Pallickal and Brahmasri Sukumaran Tantrikal.

Shivadas, Shankara Vahini State President Dr. Jayashree Gopalakrishnan, board members R. Girish, K. V. Sabu, P. P. Sudheer, Sinilkumar, and liaison officer Sajindran Maliyekal participated in the press conference.
