Assembly Elections: Twenty20 Party Announces Eight More Candidates.

Kizhakkambalam: The Twenty20 party has announced eight more candidates, including film and reality show personalities, for the upcoming Assembly elections. Party President Sabu M. Jacob made the announcement yesterday.
The candidates have been named for the constituencies of Angamaly, Thrippunithura, Perumbavoor, Ettumanoor, Chalakudy, Kodungallur, Piravom and Ranni, where the NDA alliance, especially Twenty20, holds a strong influence.Actor and dancer Veena Nair, a native of Parippu in Ettumanoor, has been nominated as the party’s candidate for the Ettumanoor constituency. Prominent actress Lakshmi Priya, who has been an active presence on BJP platforms for the past 10 years, will contest from Perumbavoor. Active in the film industry since 2005, she is also the Vice President of the actors’ association AMMA.
In Thrippunithura, actress Anjali Nair, a well-known face in films and television serials, has been selected as the candidate. A native of Thrippunithura, she is also an entrepreneur in the corporate gifting sector.Social media influencer Promi Kuryakose will contest from Angamaly. She has over 26 years of experience in business management and belongs to the Kidangoor Padayatti family.
Advocate Charlie Paul, a High Court lawyer and a member of the Twenty20 state executive board, will contest from Chalakudy. Dr. Varghese George, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s son-in-law, is the candidate for Kodungallur. A PhD holder with years of experience in engineering and management fields both in India and abroad, he is also the constituency president of the party in Kodungallur.Jiby Abraham, a long-time expatriate, entrepreneur and Kunnathunadu constituency coordinator of the party, will contest from Piravom, considered a stronghold of Twenty20.
Thomas K. Samuel (Blazen), an active figure in socio-cultural fields, has been nominated from Ranni. This will be his first electoral contest after entering politics through student movements. So far, the Twenty20 party has announced candidates in 12 constituencies. As a constituent of the NDA, the party will contest in 20 seats across districts from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram in this election. Party President Sabu M. Jacob said that priority has been given to local candidates from respective constituencies.
