NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Belgium’s Minister of Defence and Foreign Trade, Mr. Theo Francken, in New Delhi on September 3, 2026. During the interaction, conducted on the sidelines of talks between Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Belgian Prime Minister Mr. Bart De Wever, the two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral defense and industrial cooperation. Both ministers agreed to expand strategic ties through dedicated defense cooperation dialogues, exchange of high-level visits, combined training initiatives, and capacity-building programs. Additionally, Shri Rajnath Singh and Mr. Francken deliberated on pressing issues surrounding regional peace and security, highlighting the vital necessity of maritime security collaboration in the Indo-Pacific while reiterating that the partnership between India and Belgium remains anchored in shared values, mutual trust, and respect.
