Amrita Hospital Joins Hands with ‘Operation Toofan’

Kochi: Amrita Hospital, Kochi, is joining hands with ‘Operation Toofan’, an initiative launched by the State Government against the drug mafia. On July 25, at 10:30 AM at the Amritayanam Hall in the hospital’s B-Block, State Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate ‘Operation Toofan – The Narco Hunt’ along with ‘Toofan – Tribal Healthcare Awareness and Medical Program Initiative’ (Toofan-TAMPI), which has been set up to extend health awareness and medical services to tribal areas.

Kerala High Court Judge Justice Devan Ramachandran will be the chief guest. He will also launch the ‘Toofan Amrita’ software during the event. T.J. Vinod MLA will release the project’s logo. Kerala State Police Chief Ravada A. Chandrasekhar IPS will deliver the keynote address. State Nodal Officer DIG Putta Vimaladitya IPS will elaborate on the ‘Operation Toofan’ initiative.

Dr. Prem Nair, Provost and Group Medical Director of Amrita Hospital, will deliver the welcome speech. Swami Poornamritananda Puri, General Secretary of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, will give the benedictory address. Pradeep Achan, CEO of Amrita Technologies, will introduce the ‘Toofan Amrita’ software developed by Amrita Technologies. R. Sreekandan Nair, Managing Director of 24 News, will announce the ‘Toofan-Amrita Healthcare Warriors’.

Prof. Dr. C. Sreekumar, Dr. Jaggu Swami (General Manager of Amrita Hospital and Chief Coordinator of the Toofan-Amrita Team), Adv. K. Anand, C.K. Pradeep Biju Melattoor, Dr. Rehna C. Mukundan (General Manager of Kochi Amrita Hospital), Dr. Dinesh (Former Professor, Department of Psychiatry), G.S. Sajikumar (Administrative Director of Amrita Vidyalayams, Kerala), and Prof. Dr. K.P. Gireesh Kumar (Principal, Amrita School of Medicine) will also speak at the event.
