KTGA to stage protest against UPI transaction fee

Kochi: The Kerala Textiles and Garments Dealers Welfare Association (KTGA) will organise a protest demanding the withdrawal of the Central Government’s decision to impose a fee on UPI transactions above ₹2,000. The protest will begin with a march at 10.30 am on October 6 from the KTGA District Committee Office at Gopal Prabhu Road, Ernakulam. State Secretary K. Krishnan and Treasurer M.N. Babu will flag off the march. The protest demonstration in front of the BSNL office at Park Avenue will be inaugurated by T.J. Vinod MLA, while State Vice President Beena Kannan will deliver the keynote address. District President K.D. Johnson, General Secretary Nawab Jan, State Executive Member Ashraf Injakkudy, District Secretary Mercy George, Youth Wing District President Sameer Mooppan and City Unit Secretary Manoj Kumar, among others, will address the gathering. The association office-bearers announced the protest at a press conference held at the Ernakulam Press Club.
