Kochi: The Ernakulam District Annual General Meeting, Onam Fest, and B2B Meet of the Super Market Welfare Association of Kerala (SWAK) were held at Gokulam Convention Centre, Kaloor. The event was inaugurated by State President Jorfin Pette, while Ernakulam District President Abdul Azeez presided over the function.
Delivering the keynote address, FreshToHome COO Mathew Joseph highlighted the importance of adapting businesses to changing market trends. He stated that consumer preferences are evolving rapidly, and businesses that fail to analyse data accurately and implement necessary changes risk falling behind. He also emphasized that the support of family members plays a vital role in the growth and success of entrepreneurs.
Mathew Joseph also spoke about the rapid growth and opportunities in online commerce. He pointed out that unhealthy competition often pushes supermarkets into losses and noted that nearly 25 percent of consumers currently purchase groceries online, with this percentage expected to increase in the coming years. He urged supermarket owners to embrace online business opportunities, either individually or collectively, to remain competitive.
The event also featured the launch of distribution for new products from various companies, an award presentation ceremony, a lucky draw, and the inauguration of charity initiatives. A special awareness session on the new labour code was conducted by Varkichan Pette. The election of new office bearers of the Ernakulam District Committee was also held during the programme.
SWAK State General Secretary K.A. Siyavudheen, State Vice President Saju Moolan, Ernakulam District General Secretary K.A. Mohammed Ansaf, Treasurer Arun Aravind, B2B Fest Chairman Narayana Babu, Vice Chairman P.M. Ashraf, M.A. Rafi, Abdul Salam, and several other leaders addressed the gathering.
