Kochi: Mivi, one of India’s leading consumer technology brands, is entering the smartphone market in collaboration with Qualcomm, Flipkart and Google. The company has announced that its first smartphone, the ‘Mivi One’, will be launched exclusively on Flipkart on September 24. The smartphone is set to be the only device in its segment in India to feature a Snapdragon 5G chipset. The phone will be manufactured at Mivi’s own manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
Mivi is entering the smartphone segment following its success in the personal and home audio categories. According to Mivi Co-founder Viswanadh Kandula, the brand has nearly a decade of experience in design, research and development, and end-to-end manufacturing in India. He said the Mivi One has been designed with a thorough understanding of the needs and usage patterns of Indian consumers, offering a combination of strong performance, thoughtful design and excellent value.
The company aims to make the smartphone accessible to consumers across India by leveraging Flipkart’s extensive digital commerce ecosystem and nationwide logistics network. Company officials said the new smartphone initiative marks a major step forward in Mivi’s ambition to build a global-standard consumer technology company from India.
