Almond Board of California Launches Awareness Campaign to Bust Summer Myths

Kochi: The Almond Board of California has launched an awareness campaign to dispel the common misconception that consuming almonds during the summer increases body heat. Speaking at the campaign event, renowned nutritionist Ritika Samaddar explained that almonds are packed with high amounts of protein, healthy fats, and dietary fiber, which requires the body to expend more energy during digestion. This natural metabolic process is often misunderstood by people as an increase in body heat.

She further highlighted that almonds are a nutrient-dense superfood, enriched with 24 essential nutrients including Vitamin E, protein, fiber, and magnesium. While soaking almonds can aid in easier digestion, consuming them raw or unsoaked does not diminish their inherent nutritional value. The campaign concluded with the reassurance that both adults and children can confidently include almonds as part of a daily balanced diet throughout the year, without any concerns about overheating.
