NEW DELHI : Surgeon Vice Admiral Dilip Raghavan, VSM, took charge as the Director General Hospital Services (Armed Forces) on September 1, 2026. An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, he completed his MBBS in 1989 and was commissioned into the Indian Navy on December 26, 1989. Over a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Vice Admiral Raghavan has held several prestigious flag and staff appointments, including Command Medical Officer of both the Southern and Eastern Naval Commands, as well as Commanding Officer of INHS Asvini in Mumbai—during which the hospital was awarded the coveted Raksha Mantri Trophy for Best Command Hospital. In recognition of his exceptional devotion to duty, he was conferred the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) on January 26, 2026. He is married to Dr. Michelle Vas, a pediatrician specializing in Developmental Neurology and a former Short Service Commissioned Officer in the Indian Navy.
