Aster Medcity Organises ‘Nutrisaga 2026’ to Mark National Nutrition Month

Kochi: Aster Medcity, Kochi, organised ‘Nutrisaga 2026’, a week-long nutrition awareness programme led by its Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics as part of National Nutrition Month celebrations. The initiative focused on promoting healthy eating habits and a balanced lifestyle.

The programme began with the launch of what was described as India’s first comprehensive millet-based hospital diet programme by Dr. T. R. John, Chief Medical Superintendent, Aster Medcity, and Tina John, Team Lead, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. A millet exhibition highlighting the health benefits and culinary versatility of millets was also organised.

Nutrition-focused games and a lucky draw were held throughout the week for patients, bystanders and hospital staff. The programme concluded with an inter-collegiate ‘Flameless Cooking’ competition, encouraging students to explore creative and healthy food choices. Through education, public participation and innovative cooking practices, Nutrisaga 2026 aimed to promote greater awareness of nutritious eating.
