New Delhi : Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth inaugurated a newly constructed multi-level car parking facility at the Defence Offices Complex, Africa Avenue, New Delhi, on August 5, 2026, reaffirming the Central Government’s commitment to upgrading urban infrastructure with world-class facilities. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that the government is focused on developing modern infrastructure to address challenges in metro cities where land is scarce, noting that advanced technology plays a key role in solving such issues. He described the project as a significant step towards easing parking constraints within the complex and enhancing workplace efficiency through the adoption of modern systems. The Minister also commended the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for completing the project in a time-bound manner and appreciated the quality and aesthetics of other landmark developments such as MP Flats, Kartavya Bhawan and the Executive Enclave. The 14-storey multi-level parking facility incorporates fully automated robotic (dolly-type) technology to maximize parking capacity, achieving 60 per cent higher space efficiency compared to conventional systems at a cost of Rs. 45 crore. Equipped with CCTV surveillance and advanced fire safety systems, the facility ensures minimal human intervention and zero vehicle emissions beyond the lift lobby, marking a step forward in sustainable and smart infrastructure development.
