South Indian Bank’s ‘Onam Orumayude Olama’ Creates an Onam Wave; Viewership Crosses 50 Million

Kochi: South Indian Bank’s latest Onam campaign, ‘Onam Orumayude Olama’, is creating a major buzz on social media. Within just a few days of its release, the advertisement has crossed 50 million views across digital platforms alone, capturing widespread public attention.

The campaign draws on South Indian Bank’s legacy and the social bonds preserved across generations. The 90-second advertisement tells the story of a group of young people who come together through crowdfunding to restore an abandoned chundan vallam, a traditional snake boat that had been left unused due to financial difficulties. The film conveys the inspiring message that “nothing is impossible when people stand together.”

The advertisement is directed by renowned filmmaker Martin Prakkat, with the screenplay written by Sharath Prakash. Featuring Kiran Peethambaran in the lead role, the film was shot against the scenic backdrop of the Alappuzha backwaters. Completed in just 20 days, including post-production, the advertisement has won the hearts of audiences by showcasing the goodness of the community and the strength of togetherness.
