Kochi: Indian company Indrajaal Drone Defence has launched an anti-drone patrol vehicle capable of detecting, tracking, identifying and countering unauthorised drones and hostile threats. Named the Indrajaal Ranger, the vehicle is designed to facilitate anti-drone patrolling along the country’s borders as well as in urban areas.
Indrajaal Autonomous Defence Systems and Sigma Advanced Systems said they have received orders worth approximately ₹155 crore from the Government of India for the Indrajaal Ranger™. Described as India’s first artificial intelligence-powered anti-drone patrolling vehicle capable of detecting and countering drones while on the move, the Indrajaal Ranger can monitor and neutralise hostile drones without stopping.
The vehicle can detect drones at a range of up to approximately 10 kilometres and counter them within a range of up to four kilometres. It employs advanced technologies such as signal jamming, taking control of drones and other disruption techniques to counter potential threats.
Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey (Retd.), former Commandant of the Army War College, Mhow, and a former General Officer of the Indian Army, said technologies such as anti-drone patrol vehicles are not merely machines but protective shields that safeguard children, farmers, the future and the nation.
